In the summer of 2022, while Tom and I were out for a drive one evening we passed by an old, very worn out, purple school bus for sale. As we passed by the bus Holy Spirit told me that one day I would have a purple bus for Immanuel Quilt Ministry, and that it would be gifted to me. I was shown the vision and the purpose; It was to be a bus transformed into a storytelling bus, something intriguing that would draw audiences in to hear the story I share, the one all about Jesus. It would be used in parades and at festivals, fairs, and more, making Christ known one block at a time, with one unique quilt.
Over the years I have learned to recognize the Voice of God. I accepted God’s words as a promise. I told many people about the bus I was promised. Responses ranged from excitement to doubt that God would gift a bus. But let me tell you, ALL God’s promises are yes and Amen! I was gifted a bus!
The Immanuel Quilt Bus is a gift from God, a promise fulfilled.
My 2002 International came from an unlikely donor instructed by God to buy me a bus. I considered many times how the gift might come, but never did I expect the gift to come from…
I believe the story of the bus could impact as many, if not more, than the story of the Immanuel Quilt. Maybe it’s for that reason I received opposition at every turn. Our adversary, the devil, doesn’t like the idea of it too well.
After receiving the bus in March 2025, there were many hoops and hurdles to jump to get it on the road; from getting the title transferred, insurance, plates, and more. I had faith to believe God would gift a bus, but I didn’t anticipate all the spiritual warfare that would come along with it. There was a great testing of my faith, yet at every turn, God was showing up and showing He was with me and in the midst of the story.
God has me writing a book about the bus. I believe it has the potential to help turn nonbelievers into believers and increase faith for those with little faith. The current working title is Faith to Believe. When the book is released, my hope is that readers will see the goodness of God revealed and come to know that when the hard knocks of life come, they can have faith to believe the promises of God will carry them through.
