The Purple Bus

All God’s promises are Yes and Amen. -2 Corinthians 1:20

I was gifted a bus!

In the summer of 2022, I heard the Lord tell me that one day I would have a purple bus and that it would be gifted.  God showed me the vision and the purpose for the bus: it would be transformed into a storytelling bus, something intriguing to draw audiences in to hear the story I share, the one all about Jesus.  A bus that could be used in parades and at festivals, fairs, and more.

I told many people about the bus God promised I would one day have. Responses ranged from excitement to doubts that God would gift a bus.

Well, let me tell you, God’s promises are yes and Amen!

On March 14, 2025, I was gifted a bus!

An old yellow school bus was delivered directly to my front door, a surprise delivery, a gift from an unlikely donor instructed by God to buy me a bus.

My bus is a gift from God, a promise fulfilled.

Though I believed God would gift a bus, I did not anticipate the spiritual warfare that would come along with receiving one. There were many months of jumping hoops and hurdles to get the bus on the road to fulfill its mission.  Yet, at every turn, God showed up, showing He was with me and in the midst of the story.

The story of the purple bus could potentially impact as many, if not more than, that of the Immanuel Quilt. Maybe it is for this reason that I received opposition at every turn. Our adversary, the devil, doesn’t like the plans of God too well.

I am currently writing a book about the bus. It will be one to help us all to have the faith to believe that all God’s promises are always yes and Amen.

Sign up to follow the journey to receive updates when the book is released.

The bus was obviously not purple when I received it, but, the donor gave me a stipend to have the bus painted. After getting a price quote to paint the bus, it was far too costly to have someone paint it. God provided a better plan for making the bus purple (lavender). A full wrap graphic was donated!

2025 Christmas Parade

<img src="my-image.jpg" data-no-lazy="1" alt="" width="100" height="100" />

When God first told me that I would have a bus for this ministry, He told me the bus would be in parades and used at festivals and fairs. From that moment on the only parade I was able to envision a bus being in was the Brazil Christmas parade. This was the parade in which we took our boys to see when they were young. I have many fun memories of us being at the parade, many times, wrapped in blankets and shivering.

The cold snap, that arrived far too early, nearly prevented us from being in the parade. The old diesel needed some help and prayer to get going. But all cheers and glory to God. We were in the parade with all the family, four generations.
